Long’s Bucket List September – Part Deux

Tales of Long’s bucket list September continue!

If you don’t know already, I’m a total fitness freak.  I love to try new workouts, as evidenced here and here.  Loomis not so much for the fitness, but that’s why she’s the yin to my yang.

I have literally been DYING to try The Class by Taryn Toomey

This yoga/cardio/strength training workout has a cult following in Manhattan and L.A..  Celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, Naomi Watts and Christy Turlington are devotées of The Class.

As part of The Nantucket Project programming, I was able to take a class with Founding Teacher and total rock star Jaycee Gossett.

It was the best workout I have ever done.  For real.  It was part bootcamp, rock concert, detox, meditation, therapy and so much more.  I am in pretty decent shape, and it kicked my butt, my body, and my soul.

I am definitely going back to take more classes in NYC.  I’ll be trying to drag people with me, so consider yourselves warned my fitness friends.  The Retreatment might be more Loomis’s speed?

Shifting gears, next on the bucket list was a brush with fashion greatness. I have always been a huge fan of fashion designer Liz Lange.

Liz was a pioneer in creating high end maternity clothes that were chic and simple.  Shout out to anyone else who was pregnant in the 00’s!  I kept up with Liz and her sister Jane Wagman when they started their shopping site Shopafrolic.

You think L&L like to shop? These girls are black belts!

Of course I was the first in line when they launched their their new gotta-get-it collection Navy Days.  It’s the perfect place for avid fashionistas to discovering fresh designs online.  These girls are speaking my language!

Soooo, I nearly passed out when Liz reached out to us about an L&L/Navy Days collaboration.   We intended to get a pic of us together in Nantucket in our Navy Days duds.  But, in typical L&L fashion (pun intended), we had a bit of a snafu.  Soooo, here we are solo, but still looking darling in ND!  This top was my go to during my week in Nantucket and is the perfect transition for early fall weather that feels like summer.

….and Loomis rocked her ND when she took her girls to their first ever concert.

Stay tuned for Part 3 of Long’s Bucket List September. Next week I am, gulp, hiking Rim to Rim of the Grand Canyon with 5 of my college besties.  If I survive, I’ll be sure to report back

(Pray for us)
