Spoiler alert : I am ALL hopped up on #girlpower right now.
It’s certainly proving true what they say . . . March is in like a lion, alright.
The month kicked off with a bananas storm doing a number on my coastal town of Marblehead, MA . . .
followed by Beautycounter’s March Forth trip to Washington, DC . . .
and let’s round out the week with International Women’s Day, shall we?
Special shout out to one of the the most inspirational women in my life, none other than Ms. Annie Long Sullivan. Long wasn’t in DC with me this week because
she’s a way better person than I am she wanted to give the chance to someone else (after being a part of the first ever pilgrimage to DC in 2016). She is a team player and walks the walk with her good vibes every damn day.
I am so proud to know her. (Insert fist pump)
She kept her FOMO in check as I had the honor of representing Massachusetts, alongside Alaska, New Jersey, and Washington D.C. in a full day of empowering meetings on the Hill on Monday.
(this is our team – how cute are they? #teamblueskyforevs)
Circling back to that coastal town I call home. I LOVE Marblehead aka “the bubble”, but I wouldn’t say it’s known for it’s diversity. So when I had the chance to link arms with a refugee & asylum attorney of Pakistani descent, a blue-haired bright-eyed ray of sunshine & make-up artist extraordinaire from Alaska, share a room with a gracious and oh so lovely immigrant from Hong Kong, dance my butt off with QUEEN LINDA HOPE (here’s where Long’s FOMO kicked in) . . . I was feeling more emboldened than evs.
And this is just the tip of the iceberg. SO many incredible souls came together . . . from brave breast cancer survivors to ordinary product hoes like me and every back story in-between, for this one cause that gets us up in the morning.
It was a real Breakfast club moment.
We found our common ground & we made our voices heard. We were . . .
BIG thanks to another admirable gal
(almost as cool as Long)– who makes it all possible, Ms. Gregg Renfrew. You and your team are the freaking balls. Thank you for all that you do.
(and for the one zillion cocktails and photo booth opps – doh!)I encourage you all to find your cause (or join ours. . .) just make sure it’s worth your ROAR.
Happy International Women’s Day – March Forth. (insert strong arms, dancing ladies, and heart emojis)
