Loomis here. Fairly obsessed with watching love stories unfold on the big screen – I mean, who isn’t? The girls are just now on the cusp on being about to enjoy a good romcom without being too grossed out by a kissy scene. *mwwwwwwwah!*
We recently watched Dirty Dancing and that admittedly was a bit premature (whoopsy!) But what. a. terribly amazing. flick.
Hopping across the pond to Notting Hill – who could forget when Anna Scott (aka Julia Roberts) said to Hugh Grant . . .
*SIGH*
And yes, I’m aware I might catch some shiz for this next one but I don’t care. My name is Sarah, and I loved the movie Country Strong. If ever in need of a good cry – this is the movie for you.
Cheating a bit with this next one because if it hadn’t been for investing years of my life in the Carrie/Mr.Big saga on the TV show, Sex and the City, I would not choose the movie. But we just waited so long for this moment . . .was it worth it?
absofuckinlutely.
And my all-time FAVORITEST movie of ALL THE MOVIES EVER tends to fly under the radar a bit. If you have not yet seen it yet, you need to take immediate action. I think of it every single day. And I could watch it a million times. I’m going to request a Valentine’s Day viewing in this hizzy.
*SWOON*
Enter Long.
Say Anything – Absolutely iconic. Any list without Lloyd Dobler and his boombox is void and null.
Sixteen Candles – “Me?” “Yeah, you.” Take it from me, an entire generation of (now grown) women are still hoping this might still someday happen to them.
Love Actually – You may call it sad, desperate, or pathetic. I say this declaration of unrequited love is incredibly, well, romantic.
Bridget Jones Diary – “No, I like you very much, just as you are.” Sigh. Perfection, Mark Darcy.
Silver Linings Playbook– B.C. nails it with “The only way you can beat my crazy was by doing something crazy yourself. Thank you. I love you. I knew it the minute I met you. I’m sorry it took so long for me to catch up. I just got stuck.”
Get unstuck this V-day!
