It’s official! We have spring fever, even if it doesn’t exactly feel like spring here yet in the Northeast. Here are our Top 10 reasons that we love it.
Here goes Ms. Long
- You can finally say quite possibly the three greatest words in a mother’s vocabulary:
Go play outside!
(They may look like sweet, darling angels, but don’t be fooled.)
I know. I know. Little Miss Healthy eats jellybeans? Everyone has their vice, and my bad bad thing just happens to arrive in time for Easter.
3. That first outdoor run when the sun is shining, the birds are singing and it’s actually warm. You are finally wearing a short sleeved shirt, and cranking some tunes. Ahhhhh!
(Loomis literally has no idea what I’m talking about)
4. If you didn’t go to Holy Cross, don’t bother reading any further.
The smell of mulch.
And, of course, Spring Weekend!
Observation #1 – No one at America’s #2 Catholic college could spell Field House correctly?
Observation #2 – Carrot Top AND Adam Sandler? Yes, we had it all in the ’90’s. Plus THE TOADS!!!
Observation #3 – Yes, that is Bill Simmons. Yes, I knew him before he was a big shot, but that’s a blog post for another time.
5. We are that much closer to summer! 68 days until Memorial Day…but who is counting? (Me! Me!)
Seriously, is Long speaking Chinese?
I also love lots about spring – however, my reasons have very little
ZERO to do with running.
Specifically lilacs (April)
& peonies (May).
7. Open Windows
Fresh air = magic pill for your mood.
Air out your home – peace out, winter germs! Breathe in the spring vibes and give in to the urge to go outside. Which leads me to . . .
8. More #dogwalks.
RIP LOO (oh how we miss you, girl) but excited for Petunia’s first spring. With a name like Petunia, how could she not love it?
9. Goodbye, ski season. It’s been real.
But now what to do on the weekends? Don’t laugh but I’m going to attempt to bike with my girls this spring. Santa even brought me a cute beach cruiser.
I’m digging this one from Serena & Lily but it just came out. Besides horseface went el cheapo factoring in the hospital bills we will probs have once I attempt to ride a bike.
The girls helped him pick this one out for moi.
I not-so-secretly wish it was pink but NBD.
as long as Petunes can fit in the basket!
And finally #10.
New seasons, especially Spring, signify new beginnings and “fresh starts”. Life is popping up all around us, literally. It’s energizing and inspiring (and sometimes makes my nose run). This spring in particular is important for my family — and I am anxious to keep moving, to keep appreciating & enjoying my days on this earth, all hopefully a little lighter than this time last year.
