International Women’s Day

Not gonna lie, sometimes all these “days” bug.  I find I can’t keep them all straight and I am also of the frame of mind that every day should be celebrated for many of the causes.

But on the other hand, I do believe we need a kick in the pants once in awhile – and today I’m happy to acknowledge International Women’s Day and I’ll be even happier not to celebrate it someday.

I’m also willing to admit that I was mildly obsessed with Wonder Woman when I was in elementary school and I would pull open doors in slow motion and pretend I was her spinning in the bathroom stalls when no one else was around.

Anyone else? No?  Awkward.

Anyways, I did this privately (obvs) and I’m happy to see so many women not afraid to be wonder woman in public.

Also, check this article about a very cool statue.

“One of the most iconic images on Wall Street is the charging bull. So the idea of having a female sort of stand against the bull or stand up to the bull just struck us as a very clever but also creative and engaging way to make that statement,” Heinel said. “Even though it’s a little girl, her stance is one of determination, forwardness, and being willing to challenge and take on the status quo.”

So this post is in honor of all the amazing women out there doing their thing and for all the little girls that I hope don’t feel the need to “raise awareness” about the importance of equality for women, because they actually have it.

Until then . . .2f17c453a619d94521dd53998016a3e0
