Top Ten Tuesday

It’s a big day for us!  Not only is it Top Ten Tuesday, but we are launching a new collection of amazing Beautycounter products.  And what better way to celebrate than with our Top 10 reasons why we love them?

Long will go first, because she’s bossy like that.
1.  I love me some peonies.  I love them even more now that I know peony root helps plump skin and improve elasticity. (See #7 below…great minds!)

2.  The Balancing Collection is super effective in combatting angry teenage skin, which is helpful when you live in a house where you are outnumbered by your (sometimes angry) teenagers.

3.  Hello Brightening Collection!  I may not like orange juice, but I am Vitamin C obsessed.
Anything to get my skin looking brighter and more radiant.  See teenagers mentioned above who are literally taking years off my life.  But,  don’t take my word for it, in an independent study 90% of people said their skin looked fresher and rested after using the products.
4.  Mists are simply fun to use.  Ours don’t have silicones or sulfates, for the record.

Don’t tell me you didn’t use this one back in the day.  Time for an upgrade!

5. The packaging for these luxe collections is beyond elegant and chic.  They would brighten up any bathroom.  No, Loomis, this is not an excuse to redecorate.
[Enter: Loomis]

Who, me?  The packaging is TO DIE FOR tho, I agree. Might do the whole house around them, never mind just a bathroom.

Here are the top 5 things I love about the new products, obvs some overlap, because Ms. Long and I jive like that.

6.The BRIGHTENING collection.

I tried not to complain too much about my pregnancy, despite it being a very rocky road.  I wanted babies for so long and went through great measures to actually get pregnant and I am truly grateful that I did. That being said, I’d like to take a moment to bitch about some “souvenirs” from my pregnancy journey –  stretch marks (womp) and melasma aka “pregnancy mask” or as I commonly refer to them as “my spots”.  Before BC I had tried pretty much everything on my spots – laser, dermo-prescribed brightening ointments, expensive facials . . . *cringing*.  The bastards always came back.  And then low and behold, when I started using the Countertime Rejuvenating collection and specifically the toner pads,

the spots started fading.

I used the Vitamin C mask only once so far and the result was already noticeable.  I was glowing if I do say so myself.

Peace out, spots.  I prefer my leopard print on my bags not my face.

7. PEONIES.  we all know how I feel about them.  obsessed is an understatement.  I’m the creepy lady who yelps at Whole Foods when I see them for the first time in the season and then stick my nose in them for 20 minutes, pretty much moaning.  ewwww.  Get a grip, Loomis!

even Horseface likes peonies.

Well NOW I get to spray them all over my face all year long.  Thank you, Beautycounter!

oh wait, WHAT?! The peony mist also plumps and minimizes fine lines?!  I CANNOT EVEN.

8. Another thing I love about these new innovative offerings is that I get to drop this bomb when I talk about the products.

“Xavier Ormancey, who makes an international move from Paris to Beautycounter headquarters in Santa Monica, has joined the company as Head of Product Development. His previous experience includes product development and leadership positions at L’Oréal Paris, Chanel Parfums & Beauté, and Yves Rocher Group. Xavier has earned a global reputation as a true visionary, pioneer and innovator of highly successful, environmentally friendly personal care products. “Few other industry leaders are moving the market forward as profoundly as Xavier has so far and is about to at Beautycounter,” said Renfrew. Xavier has risen to international acclaim for his provocative and transformative view that living plants and the human body can and do interact in beneficial ways – including in personal care products when carefully developed for such balancing functionality. His philosophical and practical approaches to product development, detailed in a TEDx Paris talk, will guide his work at Beautycounter. He will be responsible for all product innovation, development, performance and safety.”

no idea what he is saying, obvs, but I dig it.  And I am thrilled he’s on our team.

Xavier you can just hop right in my pocket with Christy, please.

I just love puns and this hashtag is puntastic!

Oh, and not to mention our charcoal products rock.

10. My life has certainly evolved over the last 15 years.  Not in a bad way.  But in a “not as much time/patience to go to the spa all day, especially in India” kinda way.  Everytime I put on a mask at home I am bought back to the best spa experience I’ve ever had at the The Taj Lake Palace Udaipur.

Anyways, besides humble bragging about my world travels, the reason this particular spa experience was so amazing was because they were using ancient Indian rituals and ingredients (i.e. no freaking toxins!)  It was magical and my skin never felt better, until now of course after just 10 minutes in the privacy of my own home.

Thank you, Beautycounter, for this exquisite new collection!  For providing us with safe, luxurious, and effective products that make us feel like we are at a 5 star luxury resort half way across the world.  Until the stretch mark, melasma-causing children start knocking on the door, that is.

Wouldn’t have it any other way.

P.S. your face will look much better post-mask than during. Obvs.

Happy Beautycounter+ Day!
